PURPOSE:

Awarded by the BOC on August 22, 2017 for an amount not to exceed $5,705,060.00. This contract consists of improvements to the following Lift Stations: 1664 Lewis Way, Tucker, GA; 930 Fourth Street, Stone Mountain, GA; 1313 Stone Mill Way, Stone Mountain, GA; 5128 Stone Mill Way, Stone Mountain, GA and 5668 Penny Brook Court, Stone Mountain, GA. The original scope of work was completed under budget, prior to contract expiration, and left a balance of $1,198,309.21. As a result, two (2) additional lift stations (Leeshire and Hammer Mill #3 Lift Stations) were added to the scope of work to keep them in operation until their conversions to gravity lift stations and to meet the December 31, 2019 consent decree deadline. This request totals $676,553.90; includes the ratification of $192,451.00 worth of additional work already expended for the Hammer Mill #3 and Leeshire Lift Stations; and will allow for the continued completion of $484,102.90 worth of additional improvements to the Leeshire Lift Station. All of the Hammer Mill #3 Lift Station improvements and the Leeshire Lift Station‘s utility locates, bypass, and design have been completed. The remaining Leeshire Lift Station improvements should allow for final construction in October 2019 and meet the consent decree deadline.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommend approval of Change Order No. 2 with:

and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the change order and all associated documents.
