PURPOSE:
This leadership training consists of one (1) targeted course to include Leadership Training/Mentoring and is based on the West Point leadership model that focuses on behavioral science theories within the context of law enforcement operational environment. The program is unique and only offered through the International Association of Chiefs of Police and its certified master-and-national-level instructors. Upon completion of this instructional training program, the County will have attained the capacity to internally deliver the LPO course to the next class of DeKalb County public safety students. The training curriculum is proprietary and provided to hundreds of police organizations throughout the United States. This training consists of a 3-week course that will be comprised of 36 students.

Recommend approval of the sole source with:
International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), 44 Canal Center Plaza, Suite 200, Alexandria, VA 22314
Amount Not To Exceed: $33,300.00
and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the contract and all associated documents.
