PURPOSE:
Awarded by the BOC on August 13, 2013 for an amount not to exceed $1,395,000.00. On August 8, 2017, the BOC approved Change Order No. 1 for an amount not to exceed $15,000.00 to fund consulting services for the redesign of the retiree medical program and to provide guidance and outline strategies to mitigate the County's growing Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) liability. On October 23, 2018, the BOC approved Change Order No. 2 for an amount not to exceed $385,000.00 extended the contract term through December 31, 2019 to ensure a seamless transition of the impending expiration of the County's healthcare contracts and the bid process to replace them. This request is to update the County's current Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) policy and procedures manual to ensure compliance with the federal law, to promote privacy of health information, security of electronic records and ensure portability.
