PURPOSE:
The Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Department seeks the approval of the visioning/master plan for Lithonia Park by the Board of Commissioners.
NEED/IMPACT:
The project consists of creating a visioning plan for Lithonia Park in collaboration with the Friends Group and the greater community. The elaborate plan consists of a 30,000 sf recreation center, football fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, pavilions, tennis courts and many other amenities as outlined in the plan. The project will consist of phased implementation with the recreation center allotted to the later phase
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact for the plan. Estimated cost to implement the plan is $19.3 Million (2018)
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the Lithonia Park Visioning/Master Plan and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
