PURPOSE:

Awarded by BOC on August 14, 2018 for amount not to exceed $3,961,915.00. This contract consists of the removal and replacement of the Scott Candler Water Treatment Plant HSPS No. 1 existing main intake header. Services include the removal of four (4) small 5,000 gallons per minute (gpm) axial transfer pumps and replacement with two (2) large 15,500 VFD transfer pumps. During the design phase, DWM identified that the confines of the building space required additional HVAC to mitigate equipment generated heat. Additionally, it was determined that the two (2) new VFDs would allow for system consistency and performance with existing Allen Bradley Program Logic controllers. These replacement VFDs would decrease the probability of transfer pump problems that may arise from the use of assorted systems.
