PURPOSE:
To consider approving the attached authorizing resolution which (1) accepts the $49,000.00 grant from the ARC for the development of the Glenwood Road - Columbia Drive Commercial Redevelopment Corridor Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) study, (2) approves the $9,800.00 local match from funds from the Planning & Sustainability Department to be used to develop the Glenwood Road - Columbia Drive Commercial Redevelopment Corridor Study; and (3) authorizes the CEO to execute an agreement with the ARC, and all other necessary documents to effectuate this transaction.
NEED/IMPACT:
The ARC has awarded DeKalb County a grant totaling $49,000.00 to be used to partially fund the cost of developing the Glenwood Road - Columbia Drive Commercial Redevelopment Corridor Study. The Glenwood Road - Columbia Drive Commercial Redevelopment Corridor study seeks to create a sustainable, walkable, mixed-use corridor. When completed, this study will include a detailed master plan, pro forma information, strategies for additional funding, graphics and marketing information, suggested financial incentives and a list of benefits for potential partners.
The general study area is located in unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia. It includes the Commercial Redevelopment Corridor at the intersection Glenwood Road and Columbia Drive. Completion of the Glenwood Road - Columbia Drive Commercial Redevelopment Corridor LCI study will enable DeKalb County to apply for additional funding from the ARC to implement recommended transportation projects.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The County’s match is $9,800.00 or twenty percent (20%), currently allocated in the Planning Department budget.
