PURPOSE:

To approve the Resolution of the DeKalb County, Georgia Governing Authority Consenting to Continued Initial Resettlement of Refugees in DeKalb County.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The Federal Administration has stipulated that refugee resettlement jurisdictions must affirm their willingness to accept displaced persons before December 24, 2019 in order to continue resettlements. At the request of the community serving this population and in accordance with Federal Executive Order 13888 "On Enhancing State and Local Involvement in Resettlement, " the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Commissioners of DeKalb County consent to the initial resettlement of refugees in DeKalb.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
