PURPOSE:
To appropriate District 7 reserves to assist with the establishment and operational costs of the DeKalb Regional Land Bank Authority.
NEED/IMPACT:
The $200,000 appropriation will be used to assist with the establishment and operational costs of the DeKalb Regional Land Bank Authority. The DeKalb Regional Land Bank Authority will focus on the conversion of vacant, abandoned, and tax-delinquent properties into productive use. Additionally, other significant accomplishments will include the minimization of distressed housing and public nuisances as the entity disposes of properties, while creating responsible home owners, promoting economic development, and enabling future strategic government purposes, such as affordable housing, open spaces and greenways.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Increase appropriations for the following accounts by the amounts indicated below:
Non-Departmental - General Fund - Transfer to Grant Fund (09110.611250.100.0000.000) - $200,000
Decrease appropriations for the following account by the amount indicated below:
Non-Departmental - General Fund - Reserve for Appropriation (09110.579002.100.0000.0000) - $200,000
