PURPOSE:
To appropriate District 7 reserves for the establishment of a Youth Crime Prevention Program in DeKalb County.
NEED/IMPACT:
The $50,000 appropriation to the Office of the DeKalb County Solicitor-General will be used to establish the Youth Crime Prevention Program, which includes the development of a strategic plan and video to address youth crime and violence in DeKalb County Georgia. The Youth Crime Prevention Program will be administered out of the DeKalb County Office of the Solicitor-General and will target local elementary, high schools, and regional youth detention centers. Schools identified as high-risk, with the highest demonstrated need for youth crime prevention will be of primary focus. The Program will incorporate youth roundtables, videos, candid discussion, guest speakers, and mentors to deter youth crime.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Increase appropriations for the following accounts by the amounts indicated below:
Solicitor - State Court - General Fund - Transfer to Grant Fund (03810.611250.100.0000.000) - $50,000
Decrease appropriations for the following account by the amount indicated below:
Non-Departmental - General Fund - Reserve for Appropriation (09110.579002.100.0000.0000) - $50,000
