PURPOSE:
To consider adopting the attached resolution creating Traffic Calming District 20-15-07 in Land Lot 61 of the 15th District; to consider authorizing the installation of traffic calming measures (speed tables) and appropriate signage on Kingsbrook Blvd between Flakes Mill Rd and Brycewood Dr; to consider assessing all properties in the affected area an annual maintenance cost of $25.00.
NEED/IMPACT:
Speeding has been confirmed on Kingsbrook Blvd between Flakes Mill Rd and Brycewood Dr, which meets the criteria for traffic calming measures. Owners of 71.43% of the eligible properties in the identified affected area have signed the petition to have traffic calming measures installed. The public hearing has been advertised and appropriate signs have been posted notifying residents in the area.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of initial installation of traffic calming measures is estimated to be $29,565.00. All properties in the affected area will be assessed a yearly maintenance cost of $25.00 during the life of the traffic calming measures beginning the first year after installation.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Adopt the attached resolution to create Traffic Calming District 20-15-07 in Land Lot 61 of the 15th District; and Authorize the installation of traffic calming measures (speed tables) and appropriate signage on Kingsbrook Blvd between Flakes Mill Rd and Brycewood Dr in the district; and assess all properties in the affected area of the district an annual $25.00 maintenance cost after the first year through the life of the traffic calming measures.
