PURPOSE:
To authorize payment to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for the resurfacing and water and sewer installation/adjustments associated with the following project; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer or designee to execute the agreement that allow for the payments and to execute all necessary documents to complete these transactions:
? M005808 SR8/Lawrenceville Hwy from Fulton County Line to Gwinnett County Line - Resurfacing estimated $161,800
? M005992 SR13/Buford Hwy from Chamblee Tucker Rd to Gwinnett County Line - Resurfacing estimated $81,100
? M005797 SR/24 from I-20 to Gwinnett County Line - Resurfacing estimated $1,400
NEED/IMPACT:
The GDOT projects M005808, M005992 and M005797 to adjust manholes and water valve boxes to grade after the resurfacing the GDOT roadways in DeKalb County, Georgia. Department of Watershed Management has existing utilities within the construction limits that are in conflict with the proposed work or need to be replaced due to age. Therefore, the County entered into a Contact Item Agreement with GDOT to include water and sewer installations/adjustments for the SR8/Lawrenceville Hwy from Fulton County Line to Gwinnett County Line, SR13/Buford Hwy from Chamblee Tucker Rd to Gwinnett County Line and SR/24 from I-20 to Gwinnett County Line projects to prevent construction delays, minimized impact to adjacent property owners and the traveling public. The County must agree to pay the estimated cost of completing the work; the final cost of completing work will be based on GDOT final award.
