Georgia Power Relocation Costs for Briarcliff Road Sidewalk

PURPOSE:
To consider authorizing the payment of $87,134.00 to Georgia Power for relocation of overhead power lines for construction of sidewalk on Briarcliff Road from north of Clifton Road to Briar Vista Terrace; and
To consider appropriating $1,528.00 of SPLOST funds from item 1C - Pedestrian Improvements to fund a portion of this cost; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents pertaining to this project.
NEED/IMPACT:
Georgia Power will need to relocate distribution lines in order for DeKalb County to construct sidewalk along the east side of Briarcliff Road from north of Clifton Road to Briar Vista Terrace. This was a high rated project in the February 2020 SPLOST Sidewalk Prioritization.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Remaining 2016 Bond Re-funding funds for this project will cover $85,606.00 of the Georgia Power cost. The remaining $1,528.00 is proposed to be paid using SPLOST funds from item 1C - Pedestrian Improvements.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
