PURPOSE:

Awarded by the BOC on August 28, 2018 for five (5) fire pumpers for an amount not to exceed $3,391,110.00.  On July 9, 2019, the BOC approved an additional purchase of three (3) additional units for an amount not to exceed $2,218,949.00. Consists of the purchase of six (6) additional fire pumpers used to pump water to extinguish fires and haul EMS equipment. The additional units are needed to replace an aging fleet that require higher maintenance costs. The vendor has agreed to hold the 2019 price for these units which would save the county a total of $129,404.76 and thus avoid any 2020 or 2021 standard 3% price increases. These are replacement units under the eight (8) year replacement schedule.

Recommend approval to purchase six (6) additional units under the same terms, conditions and price as the units bought and approved by the BOC on July 9, 2019 with:
