PURPOSE:
To accept the Emergency COVID subgrant award in the amount of $600 awarded by the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to the County for the benefit of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County's Misdemeanor Mental Health Court, which is the county's adult misdemeanor mental health court. The MMHC is fully certified by the State of Georgia through February 28, 2022.

NEED/IMPACT:
These emergency grant funds will be used to continue to support the court's mission by implementing Zoom for Healthcare to continue to maintain necessary treatment in a collaborative effort with other entities and agencies in the decriminalization of persons suffering with serious mental illness engaged in the criminal justice system. Zoom for Healthcare is being implemented as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and will assist with maintaining the privacy of all participants who receive services with the court. Through the efforts of the MMHC, these funds will be used to defray costs associated with the MMHC's operations.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council awarded $600 with no match requirement.
