PURPOSE:
Awarded by the BOC on April 11, 2017 for an amount not to exceed $26,892,824.98. The design build services primarily include assessments using CCTV and/or TISCIT, cured-in-place pipe lining, pipe and/or manhole point repairs, pipe replacements utilizing either open-cut or pipe-bursting methods, and manhole rehabilitation and/or replacement. Easement acquisitions have included resident negotiations that have taken over a year to complete and in some cases condemnation. Site condition issues consisted of hard to burst through rock beds which caused changes to the original scope of work. Finally, unforeseen conflicts consisted of delayed removal of utility company cables, removal and replacement of trees, and obtaining permits to begin construction. This request will allow the Contractor the ability to continue project completion by adding flow capacity to the County's Sanitary Sewer System in order to minimize sewer spills.
