PURPOSE:
•To consider approving the FY 2020 Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Program grant from Office of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA); and
•To consider accepting up to $823,961.00 from BJA and appropriating this amount to the grant fund for spending in compliance with the grantor's requirements; and
•To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
The United States Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), allocated funding to DeKalb County, Georgia to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus/COVID-19. The DeKalb County’s FY 2020 CESF team includes: The District Attorney’s Office, the Fire Department, the Police Department, the Public Defender’s Office, and the Sheriff’s Office. Below is the funding allocation for each department:
