PURPOSE:

To consider accepting $125,615.00 for the DeKalb County Felony Mental Health Court from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and appropriating the amount to a new Grant Fund.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council has awarded $125,615.00 to the DeKalb County Felony Mental Health Court to use towards staff training, psychiatric & nursing services, counseling services, housing, medication, drug testing & monitoring supplies, and transportation costs for program participants. In addition to salary & benefits for the Program Coordinator. The grant period is from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.  The required cash match ($13,957) will be met through the Superior Court Operating and DATE Fund budget.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for all services provided by Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Grant in the amount of $125,615.00. Funding has to be spent by June 30th 2021, end of State FY 2021.

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents. To accept $125,615.00 for DeKalb County Felony Mental Health Court from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and appropriate the amount to a new Grant Fund
