PURPOSE:
To consider approving a contract with the Urban League of Greater Atlanta in an amount not to exceed $115,000 for the provision of the DeKalb Micro-Enterprise Program for DeKalb County based small businesses and citizens of DeKalb.
NEED/IMPACT:
The BOC approved the 2019 - 2023 Consolidated Plan including the 2019 Annual Action Plan on July 23, 2019 which allocated CDBG funding to the Urban League of Greater Atlanta for the provision of the DeKalb Micro-Enterprise Program for DeKalb County based small businesses and citizens of DeKalb. The Urban League of Greater Atlanta has been working with DeKalb County since Fall of 2017 and has conducted 10 full sessions. These Micro -Enterprise training sessions were conducted in both Spanish and English for 130 DeKalb based small businesses and citizens. Since the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Urban League of Greater Atlanta has successfully implemented the virtual classroom concept.
