PURPOSE:
Consists of the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Glen Emerald Lake Dam to correct major stability deficiencies which is currently classified as a Category I Dam due to the potential flooding should failure occur. The rehabilitation and reconstruction of the dam will correct the severe steep downstream slopes, erosion, seepage, potential soil piping, spillway undermine, emergency spillway, lake drain and vegetation choking the stone masonry spillway causing heavy storm flows to overtop the spillway. This request is for funding to commence/begin the initial construction of the dam. Additional funding is pending approval via a Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) Award anticipated January 2021. Five (5) bids were received.
