PURPOSE:

To consider acceptance of a 2-year disaster Recovery DWG, not to exceed $187,949.76.
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

NEED/IMPACT:

Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, as of March 1, 2020, the state of Georgia was determined a major disaster by the President of the United States. This declaration is a prerequisite to receiving DWG funds. Approval to receive this additional grant will permit expeditious utilization of Disaster Recovery DWG funding to provide disaster-relief and humanitarian assistance employment and employment and training services for previously employed DeKalb County residents that have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The DWG allocation is $187,949.76.

The DWG additional funding will provide disaster-relief and humanitarian assistance employment and employment and training services 65 DeKalb County Dislocated Workers.

This action has been approved by the WorkSource DeKalb Board (WSDB).
