PURPOSE:

To correct scrivener's errors included in Agenda Item 2020-0921 related to Amendment No. 2 to the Ball Mill Creek Intergovernmental Sewer Cooperation Agreement with Fulton County, Georgia, which was approved by the Board of Commissioners on September 22, 2020. The Agreement and the Amendment allow the Department of Watershed Management to release raw sewage into Ball Mill Creek Drainage Basin.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

This Item corrects scrivener's errors included in Agenda Item 2020-0921 and ensures that DeKalb County can continue releasing raw sewage into Ball Mill Creek Drainage Basin.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Department of Watershed Management will pay Fulton County an established wholesale rate, currently $1.83 per 1,000 gallons, up to a flow of 500,000 gallons per day. Flows exceeding 500,000 gallons per day will be billed at the wholesale rate inclusive of a capital component, currently $4.44 per 1,000 gallons. Fulton County will accept up to 1,250,000 gallons per day.

Recommended Action

To approve the attached Intergovernmental Sewer Cooperation Agreement in a form acceptable to the County Attorney and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
