PURPOSE:

NEED/IMPACT:
North Druid Hills Road was identified as a corridor in need of operational and multimodal improvements in the 2014 DeKalb County Transportation Plan. The North Druid Hills/Valley Brook Road Concept Study will begin at Briarcliff Road (SR 42) and extend southeast to East Ponce De Leon Avenue. The purpose of this study is to develop viable, multimodal, and cost-effective mobility solutions and to study the feasibility of short- and long-range alternatives in improving the efficiency, operations, and safety of the corridor. Project deliverables will include an implementation plan for recommended improvements and a GDOT concept report. The concept report will assist in seeking additional state and federal funding. An RFP is being prepared for selecting a consultant to perform the study.
