PURPOSE:
Pursuant to 13A of the Organizational Act where "The chief executive shall nominate a person for appointment” CEO Michael Thurmond is nominating Karen Leeper Bennett for appointment to the Fulton -DeKalb Hospital Authority (Grady). This tern will begin upon confirmation by the Board of Commissioners and will expire on December 31, 2023.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Fulton - DeKalb Hospital Authority is committed to working to meet the healthcare needs of Fulton and DeKalb counties residents. Ms. Karen Leeper Bennett has resided in DeKalb since 2012 and is currently in her fourth term of service in the Georgia General assembly as State Representative of District 94. Ms. Bennett is also a licensed physical therapist and the President/CEO of Metro Therapy Providers, Inc. located in DeKalb County. The vast amount of professional experience as well as community advocacy that Ms. Bennett will bring to the Fulton - DeKalb Hospital Authority will be of great value.
