PURPOSE:
To consider approval of the adjusted match requirement of $27,250.28 from the Atlanta Regional Commission for DeKalb Senior Services for the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021 and to appropriate the funds to the grant fund.

NEED/IMPACT:
The Human Services Department's Office of Aging has provided services to DeKalb seniors as one of the Atlanta Regional Commission's designated County Based Agencies for almost 18 years. Contracts from the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) consist of federal and state funds and are subject to the availability of funding that ARC receives from the Georgia Department of Human Services. As a result, these contracts are routinely amended throughout the course of the contract period.

The Board of Commissioners approved an original allocation from the Atlanta Regional Commission on May 26, 2020 in the amount of $2,100,586.28 with a required amount match of $133,510.72. In December 2020, the Department received notification of an increase in the grant award of $154,782.98 with an additional required match of $18,559.72. Acceptance of the additional grant funds (and subsequent match requirement) was approved by the Board on January 26, 2021. While routing Amendment #1 to this contract for review and signature, it was discovered that the original contract included additional funds and an additional required match that differed from the amount approved by the Board in May 2020.
