PURPOSE:

To allocate $30,000 from District 6 account 09130.611350.272.0000.0000 to the City of Brookhaven to help develop a master plan to integrate pedestrian trails into Georgia Department of Transportation improvements located along the north end of Interstate 285 for the use and enjoyment of City and County residents. Also, to review and approve the intergovernmental agreement between DeKalb County and the City of Brookhaven that outlines the terms of the Agreement.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The cities of Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Doraville and Chamblee along with other cities and CIDs are funding a study by Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (“Kimley-Horn, Inc.”) to develop a master plan to integrate pedestrian trails into Georgia Department of Transportation improvements along the north end of Interstate 285. Brookhaven is serving as the contracting agent with Kimley-Horn, Inc. for the other cities and agencies. The total cost of the District 6 DeKalb County contribution equals $30,000.00.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact to the 2020 operating budget.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the transfer $30,000 from District 6 account 09130.611350.272.0000.0000 to the City of Brookhaven to coordinate and distribute funding to Kimley-Horn, Inc. to develop a master plan to integrate pedestrian trails into Georgia Department of Transportation improvements along the north end of Interstate 285; and to authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents to complete the action in a form acceptable to the County Attorney
