NEED/IMPACT:

The Annie E. Casey Foundation has contracted Deep Center to document the juvenile justice reform in Chatham County. Such research-based reform at the local level may serve as options to placing juveniles in state custody and thereby reducing recidivism as well as criminality. This reform effort led to the development and implementation of The Front Porch, a Multi-Agency Resource Center in Savannah, Chatham County. Jack Lumpkin, then Police Chief of Savannah-Chatham County Police Department Deputy COO was instrumental in the realization of The Front Porch. The Annie E. Casey Foundation desires to continue the juvenile reform via a video aimed at motivating other Georgia counties to join in juvenile justice reform initiatives. The video will include information and an interview with Jack Lumpkin, Deputy COO of Public Safety. Photographing, filming, and scene recording may include locations in the Public Safety Office as well as external of the headquarters, to include symbols, and/or nomenclature.
