PURPOSE:
Pursuant to Section 13A of the Organizational Act, CEO Michael Thurmond is nominating Commissioner Edward “Ted” Terry (District 6) for service on the DeKalb Community Service Board.
NEED/IMPACT:
The DeKalb Community Service Board provides mental health, developmental disability, and addictive diseases at its facilities in DeKalb County. Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 37-2-6(b)(3), the Governing Authority is authorized to appoint a person concurrently holding elected or appointed office in DeKalb County to serve on the Community Service Board. CEO Michael Thurmond is nominating Commissioner Edward “Ted” Terry, as a member of the DeKalb County Governing Authority, to serve in the Community Service Board position previously held by Kathie Gannon, whose appointment ran concurrent with her term as a DeKalb County Commissioner.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
