PURPOSE:
To consider approval of $295,000 for an Intergovernmental Agreement between DeKalb County Government and the DeKalb County School District for instruction and utilization of the VERGE learning management software for the DeKalb Virtual Career Academy.
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of this Intergovernmental Agreement is to allow the aforementioned parties to collaborate and provide academic enrichment, career readiness training, credentialing courses, and counseling to DeKalb County youth In-School Youth between fourteen (14) and eighteen (18) years of age in a safe, healthy, and remote, virtual learning environment due to the circumstances of the pandemic, the sheltering in place order, and social distancing guidelines.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact would be $295,000.
