PURPOSE:

To consider accepting the grant award in the amount of $26,199 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to provide substance abuse and mental health treatment services to youth in the Rebound Drug Treatment Court.

To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer and/or his designee to execute the grant agreement and all necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) awarded the DeKalb County Juvenile Court funding for the continuation of substance use treatment services to youth enrolled in the Rebound Drug Treatment Court. The purpose of this program is to serve at-risk male juvenile offenders between the ages of 14 and 17 within DeKalb County who have admitted to substance use. The services include intensive court and community supervision; individual and family treatment; prevention services; and educational support.

 

The grant award will fund drug treatment, counseling services, drug testing, training, and transportation for participants.

 

The award requires a 10% cash match in the amount of $2,620. The grant period is July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. The amount awarded is $26,199.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The award will provide additional funds to Juvenile Courts overall grants budget.

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents to accept grant funds in the amount of $26,199 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the purpose of funding the Juvenile Court’s Rebound Drug Treatment Court.
