PURPOSE:
To consider approving an agreement with Scottdale Early Learning Center, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $250,000. Funding will be used to complete renovation work at the Scottdale Early Learning Center at Midway Woods. Renovation will include but not be limited to replacement of roof; retaining wall repair; preschool playground renovation; streetscape and landscape work including civil & site engineering costs; construction management and architectural costs.
NEED/IMPACT:
Scottdale Early Learning Center, Inc. provides affordable childhood education and childcare services for low-moderate income families in the Scottdale area. In addition, the agency assists families with parent education and targeted case management. The agency through a capital campaign secured funding to purchase a building to provide early childhood education to an additional 100 children in the central DeKalb County area.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No Fiscal Impact to the County.

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents for a contract with Scottdale Early Learning Center, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $250,000 to complete renovation work at the Scottdale Early Learning Center at Midway Woods.
