PURPOSE:

To approve the appropriation of $230,000.00 from Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act grant funds assigned to Account 105424.63258.E.1.01.602313  reserved for District 1 to the Center for Pan Asian Community Service for the purpose of providing support and relief from the ongoing public health emergency by administering a food pantry and a rent assistance program.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

Public relief is needed to counter the impact of the Coronavirus. This funding will place resources with the Center for Pan Asian Community Service to provide relief and support citizens that have been severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The funding will come from District 1 CARES Act Funding and be appropriated to the Center for Pan Asian Community Service.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the appropriation of $230,000.00 from Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act grant funds assigned to Account 105424.63258.E.1.01.602313 reserved for District 1 to the Center for Pan Asian Community Service and authorize the Chief Executive Officer or his designee to execute the attached Memorandum of Agreement and all necessary documents in a form acceptable to the County Attorney, for the purpose of providing support and relief from the ongoing public health emergency by administering a rent assistance program and food pantry addressing needs created by the effects of the public health emergency.
