Approval of Contract with the City of Chamblee for the Hardee Avenue Sidewalk Project

PURPOSE:
To consider approving a contract with the City of Chamblee in an amount not to exceed $165,000. Funding will be used to complete the Hardee Avenue Sidewalk Project. The project consists of the installation of 2,740 feet of a 5-foot wide sidewalk on Hardee Ave. and 6th Street between New Peachtree Road and Clairmont in Chamblee, Georgia 30341.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Hardee Avenue sidewalk project is in a Census Tract that is 90% low-mod income. The addition of a sidewalk will provide a safe route to accommodate pedestrians traveling to the Chamblee MARTA station nearby. Total project cost is $206,550 The City has allocated $41,550 in City funds to this project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No Fiscal Impact to the County.

Recommended Action
To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents for a contract with the City of Chamblee in an amount not to exceed $165,000. Funding will be used to complete the Hardee Avenue Sidewalk Project.
