PURPOSE:
To authorize payment to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for the water installation/adjustments to upgrade and add safety improvements associated with the following project; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute agreement that allow for the payments and to execute all necessary documents to complete this transaction:

? PI M005990 State Route 42 from City Street 2873/Briarcliff Place to State Route 13/US 23 in DeKalb County estimated $360,000

NEED/IMPACT:
The GDOT projects P.I. No. M005990 for the resurface State Route 42 from City Street 2873/Briarcliff Place to State Route 13/US 23 in DeKalb County, Georgia. The Department of Watershed Management has existing utilities within the construction limits that are in conflict with the proposed work or need to be replaced. Therefore, the County entered into a Contact Item Agreement with GDOT to include installations/adjustments for State Route 42 from City Street 2873/Briarcliff Place to State Route 13/US 23 in DeKalb County resurfacing project to prevent construction delays, minimized impact to adjacent property owners and the traveling public. The County must agree to pay the estimated cost of completing the work; the exact payment amount will be based on unit bid prices.
