PURPOSE:
To rename the Redan Garcia Park to Chapman Farm and Redan Nature Preserve. This property is located at 5338 Redan Road and currently serves the surrounding community as a passive recreation space.
NEED/IMPACT:
The community that utilizes this park has requested that Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs change the name from Redan Garcia Park to Chapman Farm and Redan Nature Preserve. A petition was submitted to RPCA Citizen Advisory Board for the name change and the CAB unanimously approved the request on March 23, 2021. RPCA acquired the nine acres property in 2010 from the Garcia-Vicario family. However, the historical owners of the property were the Chapman family.

Recommended Action
To approve the resolution to rename the Redan Garcia Park to Chapman Farm and Redan Nature Preserve; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents needed to completion.
