PURPOSE:
To appropriate District 7 reserves in the amount of $15,000 to Operation HOPE to assist with funding the HOPE Inside program in DeKalb County.
NEED/IMPACT:
The $15,000 appropriation to Operation HOPE, a 501 (c) 3, will be used to assist with the ongoing services provided by the HOPE Inside Program in DeKalb County, an award-winning model of community uplift and financial dignity. DeKalb County employees and residents will be provided with free services, resources, workshops, and trainings led by financial well-being coaches to increase home ownership, small business development, and credit and money management. The program will offer free consumer credit counseling and the HOPE-700-Credit-Score-Communities Initiative to raise client credit scores. The appropriation will also be used for administrative costs, the purchase of equipment, supplies, and marketing materials.
