PURPOSE:

To appropriate District 7 reserves in the amount of $35,000 to Tate + Hansen, LLC for the development of the Ethiopian Community Association master site plan.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The $35,000 appropriation will be used to create a master plan for Ethiopian Community Association located

at 5616 Memorial Drive and is approximately 10 acres. The proposal will include creating a green space for the 10 acres of land that be useful and supportive to the Ethiopian community, the City of Stone Mountain, and DeKalb County. The proposal will also include a space to accommodate community events, outdoor gatherings, recreation for youth and adults, a community garden and memorial to honor the legacy of musical artist Tupac Shakur.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Increase appropriations for the following account by the amount indicated below:

Non-Departmental - Unincorporated Fund - Transfer to Grant Fund (09130.611250.272.0000.0000) - $35,000

 

Decrease appropriations for the following account by the amount indicated below:

Non-Departmental - Unincorporated Fund - Reserve for Appropriation (09130.579002.272.0000.0000) - $35,000

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
