PURPOSE:

To consider authorizing the acceptance of funds up to $150,000 for the remainder of fiscal year 2021, and in perpetuity, for the Collection of Participant Program Fees into a new Grant Fund Account.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

INSPIRE Family Treatment Court is an 18-24 month comprehensive program that utilizes a team approach to work with adults and children in DeKalb Family and Children Services (DFCS) custody who struggle with drug addiction. Participants may be responsible for paying program fees beginning in Phase II through the completion of the program. The program fees are a minimum of $15 and a maximum of $50 depending on the phase of the program they are in. The program fees are used to offset costs for supportive services including drug abuse and mental health treatment, housing, transportation, supplies, training, and other components necessary to sustain the program.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

INSPIRE Family Treatment Court participants may be responsible for paying program fees beginning from Phase II through the completion of the program. The program fees are a minimum of $15 and a maximum of $50 depending on the phase they are in. Funds will be placed in a new grant account to offset costs for the Family Treatment Court for the remainder of 2021 and in perpetuity. This action has no cost implications on the county.

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents in acceptance of funds up to $150,000 for the remainder of fiscal year 2021, and in perpetuity, for a new Family Treatment Court Collection of Participant Program Fees Account into a New Grant Fund Account
