PURPOSE:

The resolution is to request that DeKalb County declares Health Misinformation a Public Health Crisis.  All aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic including virus origins, disease transmission, treatments, and preventive measures, have been exposed to misinformation, misperception and doubt.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

Assert that health misinformation is a public health crisis affecting our community.

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
