PURPOSE:
Pipes in this area have exceeded their expected useful life. This replacement work will include removal of existing 2-inch to 6-inch galvanized pipe and asbestos cement watermains; construction and installation of approximately 18,300 linear feet of new 8-inch DIP watermains and approximately 3,600 linear feet of new 16-inch DIP watermains; and removal and replacement of all fire hydrants, valves, service lines and appurtenances. Residential properties have been experiencing failures and service interruptions due to pipelines not performing at the minimum required service levels. Completion of this work will assure future reliable service delivery to customers. Three (3) bids were received.
