PURPOSE:
To consider authorizing the sale of 54 square feet of county owned property at 3039 Lavista Road to the Georgia Department of Transportation pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 36-9-3(a)(3)(A), which allows the County to sell real property to another body politic.
NEED/IMPACT:
State law exempts the sale of property to another body politic from publication and sealed bid or auction requirements. The Georgia Department of Transportation is currently acquiring right-of-way needed for a sidewalk project on Lavista Road from Leafmore Place to Pangborn Road (PI # 0015629). As part of that project, GDOT is seeking to purchase 54 square feet from an existing county owned parcel at 3039 Lavista Road (Parcel ID No. 18-148-11-001). This is a vacant parcel surrounded by existing road right-of-way.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The county will be paid $1,500.00 for the acquired property.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Authorize the sale of 54 square feet of county owned property at 3039 Lavista Road to the Georgia Department of Transportation pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 36-9-3(a)(3)(A); and
Authorize the Chief Executive Officer or his designee to execute all necessary documents to complete this transaction.
