PURPOSE:
To support submitting a request to the Georgia DOT for State funding in the FY2022 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant Program for street resurfacing; and

To authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents for this program.

The County has several hundred miles of streets rated 30 or worse in the Pavement Condition Index, which warrant resurfacing. Typically, because of the amount of milling, base repair, and other work required to complete the resurfacing projects, the County's share of the local match is usually 50% or more. Attached is a list of approximately 28 miles from the worst rated roadways in the Resurfacing backlog that will require the State's estimated $4,007,456.31 in funds to resurface, and an estimated $7,500,000 in County matching funds, to be funded from the SPLOST Special Local Option Sales Tax if available or another county source. This year's list includes 2.82 miles of surety bond streets. The DOT set a deadline for submitting our funding application ...
