PURPOSE:

To consider approving the 2022 Regular Business and Committee of the Whole meetings calendar.

NEED/IMPACT:

Meetings discussing the regular business of the County (BOC) are typically held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month and begin at 9:00 am in the Maloof Auditorium at 1300 Commerce Drive unless otherwise noted.

The Committee of the Whole (COW) meetings are typically held on the first and third Tuesday of every month, beginning at 9:00 am in the Maloof Auditorium.

Per the resolution approved June 28, 2016, three Committee of the Whole meetings (February, June and October) of the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners will convene at 5:30 pm, with the public comment portion beginning at 6:30 pm. The meetings will be held at different locations throughout the county to facilitate more public accessibility.  However, as long as the Board of Commissioners continue remote operations due to the COVID- 19 Pandemic, Night Committee of the Whole Meetings at different locations are not needed and the suspension of the 5:30 p.m. start times will continue until the Board of Commissioners resume in-person meetings.  While the Standing Procedural Rules do not directly address temporary suspension, the County Attorney has suggested that five votes be obtained to allow this temporary suspension as five votes is the number required to amend the BOC's Standing Procedural Rules.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None

RECOMMENDATION:
