PURPOSE:
WorkSource DeKalb received a $3000 donation from Georgia Power to assist Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) customers with supportive services. Supportive Services could include but not limited to transportation, childcare and any additional needs to overcome barriers that may prevent them from completing training.
NEED/IMPACT:
The acceptance of these funds will allow WIOA Customers to receive assistance to services that may otherwise hinder them from participating in training and/or workforce activities.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No impact to County Funds. 100% of these funds are being donated by Georgia Power. There is not a matching fund requirement from the County.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Approve to accept funding from Georgia Power not to exceed $3000.00 for supportive services for WIOA customers. Authorize funds when appropriate; Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
