PURPOSE:
To accept a $37,000 Park Pride Community Building Grant for capital improvements at Zonolite Park; to accept $2,500 grant match from the Friends of Zonolite Park; and to allocate $30,000 grant match from District 2 2001 Parks Bond account 100592.80314.541100.05.600010 to complete the project.
NEED/IMPACT:
This grant is designated for an extension of the existing raised trail, park survey and native plantings. The surrounding community will benefit from the enhanced recreational opportunity. The total project budget is $74,500:
Park Pride Grant $37,000

Friends of Zonolite Park Cash Donation $2,500
Friends of Zonolite Park In-Kind Labor $5,000

RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To accept a $37,000 Park Pride Community Building Grant for capital improvements at Zonolite Park; to accept $2,500 grant match from the Friends of Zonolite Park; and to allocate $30,000 grant match from District 2 2001 Parks Bond account 100592.80314.541100.05.600010 to complete the project; and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
