PURPOSE:
To appropriate $17,500 to fund a feasibility study for the Georgia Air and Space Museum from the tourist product development CIP account.
NEED/IMPACT:
Discover DeKalb has requested funding support from DeKalb County for a feasibility study for the Georgia Air and Space Museum at DeKalb Peachtree Airport.
The report will independently develop information that will inform stakeholders what the recommended project is, confirming information provided by the client, how much it will cost, what its annual attendance would be, how the project performs financially, and projections of annual operating profit/ deficit. Analysis of comparable venues will be provided.
The analysis will provide data on how other projects were funded. This provides insights on how this project can be funded, via earned revenue, grants, fund raising and public funding support.
Lastly, the report will have many salient points that can be used in fund raising campaigns, funding applications and public relations.
Deliverables also include a market study and associated recommendations, business plan strategy for pre-opening and first 5 years of operations, and an economic and fiscal impact analysis of the Gorgia Air and Space Museum to help justify investment in the project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Appropriation of $17,500 from account 104027.89110.541401.01.601643 to fund a feasibility study for the Georgia Air and Space Museum at DeKalb Peachtree Airport.
