PURPOSE:
To consider accepting an emergency grant award in the amount of $7,500 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to provide funding to sustain a case manager for the Rebound Drug Treatment Court program.
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer and/or his designee to execute the grant agreement and all necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) awarded DeKalb County Juvenile Court funding for a case manager for youth enrolled in the Rebound Drug Treatment Court. The purpose of this program is to serve at-risk youth within DeKalb County who have admitted to substance use. Rebound serves male juvenile offenders between the ages of 14 and 17. The program includes intensive court and community supervision; individual and family treatment; prevention services; and educational support.
The grant award will continue funding the employment of a contractual part-time case manager to provide services to assist youth adhere to the guidelines of services.
The grant period is April 1, 2022 through June 30, 2022. The amount awarded is $7,500.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The award will provide additional funds to Juvenile Courts overall grants budget.
The emergency grant award does not require a match.
