PURPOSE:
To obtain Board of Commissioners approval of the Building Opportunities for Out-of-School Time (BOOST)
Summer Grant in the amount of $200,000 to be used by the Recreation Division within the Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Department.
NEED/IMPACT:
Georgia Department of Education provides funds to the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) to establish the Building Opportunities for Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Grant Program for GRPA programs. This grant will assist the RCPA department in establishing a comprehensive summer program that seeks to leverage out-of-school and whole child support to address the learning loss that occurs during the summer months.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This grant will provide up to $200,000 to the RCPA recreation budget

To approve the RPCA Department’s Building Opportunities for Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Summer Grant in the amount of $200,000; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents
