PURPOSE:

To consider accepting the award from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council in the amount of $144,318 for drug testing, drug testing supplies, counseling services, staff training at the annual conference and assistance with transportation services for the program participants.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The grants funds are essential to sustain our program and enhance Public Safety in the community.  The funds will be used for staff training, drug testing, transportation assistance to participants and providing addiction and substance abuse treatment to the program participants.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

A county match of 12% is required.  The total match is $17,318 and has been included in the annual operating budget under Transfer to Grants.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

Approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents to accept said award and to appropriate the award amount to a new grant fund to benefit the DeKalb County DUI Court Program.
