PURPOSE:
To extend the moratorium on the acceptance, issuance, or denial of applications for the establishment or expansion of small box discount retail stores on September 30, 2022.
NEED/IMPACT:
To permit Commissioners to continue to study the effects of small box discount retail stores and consider revisions to the DeKalb County Zoning Ordinance with respect to these establishments, as more fully described in the attached resolution. Also, corporate representatives of impacted stores have requested a sixty-day (60-day) extension for further discussion of potential regulations.
