PURPOSE:
To amend the allocation of $75,000.00 made to Soccer in the Streets pursuant to Item 2022-1819, which was approved on 6/28/2022, to provide that the allocated funds will be used for programming and the community garden. The previously approved allocation provided that funding would be used to augment costs associated with field construction at Kensington MARTA station.
NEED/IMPACT:
STATIONSOCCER is an award-winning initiative that builds community through repurposing unused space in and around MARTA stations and provide safe spaces for multi-generation/multi-cultural to gather, play, learn, and grow. This funding will assist with program costs and a community garden.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No additional financial impact. The D6 ARP appropriation of $75,000.00 was approved on 6/28/2022.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the change to fund programs and a community garden instead of field construction with the District 6 ARP appropriation of $75,000 and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
